Rajdhani Express fire: Swift emergency evacuation by RPF, rail staff saves 68 passengers
A massive fire broke out in the Thiruvananthapuram Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express 12431 in the morning, causing widespread panic.

In a continued effort to enhance passenger safety and prevent thefts in trains and railway premises, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Asansol Division, Eastern Railway, in coordination with the Crime Prevention and Detection Squad (CPDS), Asansol, apprehended an offender and recovered two stolen mobile phones under Operation Yatri Suraksha at Sitarampur railway station.
Personnel from RPF Post Sitarampur and the CPDS were on routine patrol duty at Sitarampur station when they noticed a suspicious individual jumping down from the Howrah–Amritsar Mail near Platform No. 3 while the train was moving slowly. Carrying a blue backpack, the person moved towards the Howrah end of the station and attempted to flee on noticing the security personnel.

During questioning, the individual admitted to his involvement in thefts committed on trains. He was identified as Roshan Mukhiya, aged 22, a resident of Saharsa district in Bihar. The apprehended person, along with the recovered mobile phones and relevant documents, was handed over to the Government Railway Police (GRP) Station, Asansol, for further necessary action.
The Asansol Division of Eastern Railway continues to conduct regular patrolling, surveillance and special security drives under Operation Yatri Suraksha to ensure the safety, security and confidence of passengers during their journeys.
